I think it’s always helpful to question ourselves, especially when we’re in power. Rob Bell helps us ask the same kinds of questions: can America actually be more like Egypt than Israel in the biblical literature? Are we Babylon?
I think he’s more careful that Jesus as President, and it’s a fine read, though it does not read with the same zip as his other books.
