In the first five minutes, I thought I had been suckered yet again into another obligatory date movie (low quality, high cheese). But it turned charming, especially when Prince Edward showed up in the real world. (I don’t know why I liked him: was it the endearing condescension of someone who grew up as royalty in a fairy tale land, or was it the way he ran like a cartoon when rounding the corner? Either way, I liked him.)
And Amy Adams sold me on the princess. So, it’s a fun movie, and a date movie worth watching. (Oh, the kids will probably like it too.)
