This book is the marriage of deep spirituality and vibrant theology that should give birth to a mature kind of faith. He dances through the theology of creation, history and community to give a picture of faith that is both heavenward yet with feet firmly on the ground.

Peterson always writes with beauty and transcendence, and yet doesn’t mind giving you a kick in the butt with some earthly, practical talk. He challenged me into an earthy hospitality as a spiritual discipline — one that involves peeling my potatoes, chopping my onions and kneading my dough. A book that can get me to cook must be inspired indeed!

The only drawback is that sometimes his viewpoints are overstated, and leaves an anti-leadership, anti-organization bias. But for those who are steeped in those cultures, this book should feel like a breath of gloriously fresh air.
