True, DJ. But becoming a world-class chef is a far cry from making a simple meal. Just as becoming a competent minister is a far cry than giving a talk. Plus, I don't know many chefs who would consider their lives a cake walk. I'd beware entering a kitchen if I were you: chefs often handle sharp objects. =)

Cooking does take some preparation, but it is nothing compared to the preparation it takes to do Christian ministry! Cooking a meal is a quick short-term project compared to the grueling work of administering, preparing, and long-term planning involved in doing the persevering work of ministry. I think this perspective and comparison makes cooking out to be a cake walk! (pun intended) *grin*

Scott -- both the bass and the roast are already in your brother's stomach. *grin* He was actually taking notes, so perhaps you should hit him up.

I most definitely agree that watching the pros is the best way to learn. My golf game has improved over the last few years -- I've actually been playing less and watching more.

But chefs are so frustrating to watch, especially on TV, becaue you want to partake in the goodness. Jessica watches a lot of Food Network, and we are down with Top Chef on Bravo. I'm in a state of perpetual hunger...

Sweet! I'm glad you benefited from Fabrice's cooking event and after reading your post I'm even more bummed than I already was that I missed it. C'est la vie

Also, nice incorporation into the theme of watching and learning from our mentors. I've learned a ton from paying close attention to my own man-hero, Mr. Murphy, and been a better man because of it, too.

If you'd like to learn from another master, you may come over and observe me. I'm offering preview lessons from my upcoming book, "The Inner Game of Wii Tennis". Please bring broiled sea bass and some roast of Wagyu.

I'm still waiting to enjoy the fruits of Fabrice's magnificent culinary training! How about cooking up scallops instead of stir-fry tonight?! hehe. The knives, however, are definitely sharper these days. Thanks, Fabrice!
